Waltz with Janus Particles

What will happen, if Janus colloid particles with controllable biased surface nature dance at the interface? Still following the same rhythmic patterns of their homogeneous counterparts, or mimicing the small amphiphilic surfactant molecules? Or creating new steps of their own, maybe ballet or hip-hop?

Some theories are there. But new expectations emerge as experiments progress. The inquiry into the question will enrich the chemistry and physics of interparticle interactions where conventional homogeneity breaks down. It will also provide insight into potential applications such as the stabilization of emulsions, oriented assembly into super architectures and selective delivery of species.
